Code the Hero: Learn DSA · Last updated 1 October 2026
Code the Hero ("the game", on the website codethehero.com and in the Android app) is made and published by Rejil Raj PR, an individual developer in India ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the game collects, why, and the choices you have. Questions: support@codethehero.com.
What we collect today
- Nothing to play. You don't need an account. Your progress, code and settings are saved only in your own browser (or on your phone in the app). They are not sent to us.
- Feedback you choose to send: your message, your email if you give it, and technical details that help us fix problems (game version, the screen or level you were on, the last error you saw, browser or device type, screen size, language and country). Your code for a level is included only if you tick that box. We do not store your IP address. Feedback is deleted automatically after one year.
- Website analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page visits (such as pages viewed, referring site, browser and country) without cookies and without identifying you.
- Crash reports and app analytics (Android app only): Google Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics record crashes and which screens and levels are used, so we can fix bugs and improve levels.
When accounts and Premium become available
These features aren't live yet. When they are, and only if you use them:
- Account (Google sign-in): your Google account ID, email address and display name, handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
- Cloud save: stars, XP, streak dates, badges and the code you write for each level, so you can continue on another device.
- Daily challenge leaderboard: the code you submit, so our server can check it, and your display name shown on the leaderboard.
- Purchases: which plan you bought and when it renews or ends, from Google Play or our web payment provider through RevenueCat. We never see your card or bank details.
We will update this page before any of these go live.
Why we use it
To run and improve the game, fix bugs, reply to you when you ask us to, and — once available — run your account, sync your progress, verify daily challenge results and provide Premium. We do not show ads and we do not sell or share your data for advertising.
Who processes it for us
Cloudflare (website hosting, analytics and feedback storage) and Google (Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics in the app; later Firebase Authentication and Google Play Billing). When accounts and Premium launch: RevenueCat (purchase validation) and our cloud server and database provider. Each processes data for us under its own privacy terms, and some of them may store data outside India.
Security
Everything is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We collect as little as we can, and our systems do not write your code or personal details to logs.
How long we keep it
- Data saved in your browser or on your phone stays there until you clear it or uninstall the app.
- Feedback: up to one year.
- Accounts (when available): while your account exists. When you delete it, your progress, code, badges and leaderboard entries are removed right away, and the account record within 30 days.
Your choices and rights
- Play without giving us any personal data.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing support@codethehero.com. We reply within 30 days.
- Delete your account (when accounts exist) in the game at Settings → Delete account, or through our account deletion page.
Children
The game is meant for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
